They say good is the enemy of best. To be the best you can be, you have to focus on one thing to the exclusion of others; you cannot be performing at your "best" if you always have several good activities to choose from. As many of my friends know, I am involved in several activities: running, yoga, music, Hapkido (which I recently started), drawing, blogging, and more. Most of my friends admire me for this; they say my life is very balanced. But I have been noticing that my so called "balanced life" has been causing a lot of imbalances in my work. Yes, I realize I have not been doing justice to my studies by being involved in so many activities. So, last night I pondered for a long time over what to kill - "I had to kill at least one activity, if not more." I finally came to the decision of sending "blogging" to the gallows - at least, for the time being. Even after letting go blogging, I may still be having too many activities on my plate, but then it's difficult to let go activities that you love. In fact, I will try to never let go running (or some form of physical exercise) and music, because these activities nourish the body and soul. People often give up a lot of their passions in the pursuit of success; I hope I never get so blinded by ambition that I give up all those activities that give me happiness.
So anyway, this will be my last post on this blog. Thank you for taking the time to post your friendly and critical comments on my posts - I value them a lot. I thoroughly enjoyed designing (and redesigning) my blog page, and posting my thoughts here. But then I feel it's time for me to let go blogging - at least, for a while.
Thank you all again! Namaskar! Alvida! Shab-a-khair! Good bye and good luck!
I think this is unfortunate. I hope you reconsider, and when there is less pressure and fewer demands on your time, you come back to blogging. I really enjoyed reading your posts and listening to your singing; I feel fortunate that you were willing to share your passions and your culture with everyone. I wish you the best in your pursuits, and I hope to see more of Entercoarse eventually.
ReplyDeleteThere's joy in variety and there is joy in pursuing something in depth. A time comes when we have to make choices... The important point is to nurture at least a few things that give you joy and give life meaning. And you are certainly doing that very well...

ReplyDeleteGud ur decision is gud. really when we will do somany thing we cant do justice with anythig but i think that if something very serious doing then mostly we should consentrate more over that, but if serious work not there then we can involve in somany work.

Though I am not a regular reader of your blog but whenever I get time, I go through each posts. I feel so energetic and motivated that I start doing the same that you do..but unfortunately that dedication continues for only few days, may be due to hectic schedule or my insincerity. Really, I will have to priotize few things in my life.
