It all started with a tease,
When friends tried to appease,
By calling me Prof. Mishra,
Though I was a mere bourgeois,
Selling trucks and cars,
To the rich local czars.
For my heart wasn't in sales,
I would rather be on trails,
Or lounge by a brook,
To devour the words of a book,
Uninhibited and uninterrupted,
For that curious, ravenous head.
It was intellectual stimulation
I sought; not a promotion
To the post of Senior Manager.
I thought, "Why bother..."
With a title or accoutrement,
If it leaves me discontent.
So, I quit my coveted job,
And traveled around the globe,
To get a Ph.D.
And become a devotee,
Of the Goddess of Learning,
Reading and writing.
But the Goddess wanted to test,
My commitment to my quest.
And obstacles came my way,
To check if I wore away,
Or continued to try,
When everyone passed by.
It may sound all winsome,
To say that I did it on my own.
But it wasn't at all me,
From which came the esprit.
It's because of Her grace alone,
That I am Ph.inally D.one.
Many congratulations Dr.Paresh ...
