Tum Agar Saath Dene Ka

Here's my rendition of a beautiful romantic song Tum Agar Saath Dene Ka Wada Karo. The karaoke version that I found on the internet is not of that great quality, but I absolutely love the song, especially its lyrics!

(By the way, I was not singing in the kitchen, although I do that a lot, especially while washing dishes. I was sitting in the small dining space that I have in front of my small kitchen.)

Title: Tum Agar Saath Dene Ka Waada Karo
Movie: Hamraaz (1967)
Music: Ravi
Lyrics: Sahir Ludhianvi
Original Singer: Mahendra Kapoor

Here's a rough translation of the lyrics:

Lyrics Translation

If you promise to be with me,
I will keep singing beautiful melodies (for you).
As you look at me and keep smiling,
I will keep looking at you and sing for you.

Many beautiful temptations have come my way,
But I have not asked anyone out.
After I took one look at you,
I am not able to take my eyes off you.
If you just stay in front of my eyes,
I can escape those beauties who have laid their eyes on me.

The image that I had sculpted in my dreams for years,
You are that image personified,
You may not think that I am your destiny,
But I know you are mine.
If you accept me as yours ,
I will make this life wonderful.

I have walked alone for a long time,
But now (after seeing you) I am not being able to walk alone.
Without having the beautiful you as my life partner,
My time of youth is being unbearable.
If you walk beside me as my life partner,
I will throw a carpet of stars under your feet.

If you promise to be with me……..

    1. Smita, it's immature of them if they call you derogatorily for working in the kitchen. There is absolutely nothing undignified about working in the kitchen!!
